As some of you may or may not realise I've been in discussions with the DoD overlords concerning a possible merger of our more active members. This is in an effort to alleviate the frustration over raid progress and activity that has been voiced recently in guild chat.

DoD seems like a nice fit for us as they are in a similar and familiar position of not enough people signing for raids, and a desire to progress through content. Their gear is there, but they lack the activity. Identical to our situation.

As it stands the DoD overlords are pleased with our interest and are now curious to see what we are looking to bring to their raids. So I present to you this thread. Herein I hope to be able to get an idea of who is up for making this move over to DoD's camp and which character they intend to bring. Speaking to them today they are ofcourse looking for active raiders, however they did not oppose the idea of taking on alts and more casual players. If you could please state the following:

Are you up for the move to DoD?
What character/s are you proposing to bring?
State any issues you might have with this proposal.

Myself, I am ofcourse for this move to DoD.

Im all for moving my mage over.. if they wont kick me. i can only raid when not working. eg any weekends an some week days. if thats cool with them im cool to move

They run a similar system to us, if you are available for raiding on a particular day then you sign in the calendar for it. The only difference I know of at the moment is that they have slightly different raid days to us at the moment. This may change in future so we'll see. They don't kick people for not participating in raids though.

If their raiddays are still the same as before then they are thursday, monday and tuesday.

Spoken some more to Irrealis this evening, apparently the real progress days are as Moorofl says. Raid invites start at a slightly earlier time of 19:30 (server time). Sign or decline as you desire. Loot is distributed through mainspec and offspec rolls. However they try to limit it to one item per person, per raid. Ofcourse you can trade items around in the raid, provided you've not bound them to yourself (enchants/gemming). Quite a fair system if you ask me. As for trophies, so far they've just done raidrolls on them.

I'm unsure what to think, if we're just going to join them then I might pass. If I were to leave this guild, without there being any talk about a merge, and join another one I doubt it would be DOD. The totgc raid I did with them was ok, nothing special, and I don't know if that's enough for me cause if we'll just do more farm raids, I rather not raid at all. Also for what it's worth I saw some of their raids in tbc and that really blew, but I guess everything has changed loads since then.
As a last point their name doesn't appeal to me at all :p. Plus I'm not nice so should I even be in any guild??

The reason DoD was discussed was primarily as they are in the same position as us at the moment. They have members who are hungry for new content, they certainly have folk who are ready for it and with our powers combined we can become stronger than ever blahblahblah.

The purpose of this thread is to see who would like to join DoD, if you don't there's no hard feelings ofcourse. The bonus for me is that they are, by and large, of a similar mindset to most of us. They have some real nice guys there, so the social aspect should be maintained. Let me know if you want to come, although judging by your reply I guess you'd be aiming for other pastures. You might not like the name but you do know their tabard is pink right?

And whoever said you're not nice must be mega crazy! You're super awesome and don't let anyone tell you any different! <3
